A PERFORMER and musician is undertaking his biggest challenge yet to raise vital funds to keep the arts industry alive in Bracknell.
David Baker wanted to show his support for South Hill Park (SHP) by raising £1,000 to help secure its future in the borough.

The arts centre announced it was 'under threat' from closing due to the financial impact of Covid-19.
Now, David is helping SHP raise £500,000 by running 500,000 metres and this is his first ever running and fundraising challenge.
The length of his running challenge of 500,000 metres is 310 miles, equivalent to the length it takes to drive to Newcastle from Bracknell.
He said: "I wanted to support SHP because it’s a vital part of the arts community in Bracknell. My first voluntary job was at SHP with the marketing team, (for 6 months) which was a great experience for me and showed how lucky we are to have a place like this on our doorstep!

"I’ve lived in Bracknell all my life and getting into music at a young age naturally got me involved with the arts centre. I’ve recorded an album with some friends at the recording studio, performed at the cellar bar, performed in a show with EBOS, performed in Bracknell’s Got Talent, performed in the Easter production “Just So” as a Stove!"
The 28-year-old said he wants to raise this money to ensure the young Bracknell community can enjoy the opportunities he experienced when starting out in theatre.
Mr Baker added: "I’m doing this so that people in the future can also create these special memories. Whether it’s music, acting, dance or crafts, SHP is the central hub for this, and has supported the local public to show their talents.
"When I saw the announcement on YouTube, I felt that I had to do something to help out. I’ve never done a running challenge before, so this is a massive challenge for me.

"I know that it’s going to be tough, so I just have to take it one step at a time."
David has so far completed 13 runs and usually takes a route near Caesar's Camp in Swinley Forest.
He said it's a nice run because there are 'nice long paths with no hills!'.
His fundraising page has reached almost halfway raising £465 out of his £1,000 target.
South Hill Park are hoping to raise £500,000 in public funding to help keep it open once lockdown has finished.
