THE TOWN centre, like many other high streets across the UK, has seen a number of stores close over recent years.
One of the earliest closures in the town centre was of Bentalls in September 2017.

At the time, Bentalls was the only major department store in the old town, where shoppers could find unique things, with prices relatively affordable.
Fenwicks now replaces Bentalls as Bracknell's department store but people still do miss it.
Last year saw the peak of shops closing in Bracknell.

Peacocks in Bracknell was a popular clothes store and in December 2019 it was announced that it will become flats.
Sainsburys in Princess Square shut its doors on February 26 causing heartache for many in the town.
The losses didn't stop and moved into 2020 with coronavirus accelerating closures.
Argos closed its doors pre pandemic but announced last month they will no longer be continuing to operate in Princess Square.
If you're a true resident then you'll remember Bracknell's 'Harrods'
New Cut Price Warehouse on the corner of Broadway and Crossway, was demolished as part of the regeneration.
People will remember how famous it was for selling anything and everything.
In 2017, one of Bracknell's favourite shoe shops closed down.
Shoezone stood in the town centre for 10 years.
