A NEW food delivery service similar to Deliveroo but with its own independent menu could be coming to Bracknell.
That’s just one of five interesting plans validated by Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) this week.

New food delivery service (20/00552/FUL)
The Western Centre could soon be welcoming Hotboxd, a food delivery service not dissimilar to UberEats, JustEat and Deliveroo.
Available on app stores and online, Hotboxd is a new service which promises ‘restaurant-quality food’ from its own menu delivered ‘piping hot’ to diners’ doors.
Their Facebook page description reads: “Our food arrives quick-smart and as hot as it left the kitchen, thanks to our enroute heating tech. No need to crank up the microwave!!!”

Hotboxd already has a base in Alton operating from a menu which includes street food, burgers, vegetarian options, pub classics, ribs, pizzas and more.
There would be no takeaway collection service option available, however, and no on-site dining either.
According to planning documents, the business would create ten full-time jobs and five part-time jobs.
Operating hours would be from 7am to 10.30pm daily.
Earlier this week it was revealed The Ozone Rink would also be moving to the Western Centre, pending planning permission.
These two plans do not appear to be connected, however.
Aldi taking shape (planning reference 20/00550/A)
Last month it was finally confirmed Aldi will replace Sandhurst’s Waitrose, after the former supermarket moved out of Yorktown Road last year.
A gym will also be added to part of the building.
Plans have been in the pipeline for several months but planning permission was only given last month.

Aldi bosses have wasted no time in getting ready to decorate the store as new boards and signs to be added to the store have been revealed.
Additions include seven new signs, including welcome signs, new glazing, sky signs and new logos set to be added to the side of the building.
Office conversion to new home in Crowthorne (20/00595/PAC)
Offices at Crowthorne High Street could soon become a new home.
A prior approval application has been submitted to BFC to create the two-bed space.

Should this go ahead, the first and second floors of the offices would be converted to the new home.
An ‘endless swimming pool’ (20/00542/FUL)
Homeowners at a property in Warfield want to add an extension to their Bracknell Road home.
The extension would enable them to add a gym, changing room and an endless swimming pool to their residence.
According to hotspringworld.co.uk, an endless pool is a compact, precision-engineered pool which allows the swimmer to swim against a smooth current that can be adjusted.
Their description continues: “As you never reach the end of the pool, your workout is not disrupted by regular turns so you can focus on your stroke and technique.”
