WOKINGHAM is set to have its first Black Lives Matter protest next week.
The protest follows the death of George Floyd, Minneapolis, United States, and the subsequent rise in popularity of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) cause.

It is believed the protest, hosted by the Bracknell Against Racism (BAR) group, will be the first of its kind for the Wokingham area.
According to the Facebook advertisement, 43 residents have stated they will be attended, with 159 residents showing interest in the event.

The protest is set to take place in Elms Field, Wokingham, at 3pm on Saturday, August 29.
Social distancing has been outlined as a requirement on behalf of all attendees.
