Police said the victim received an "out of the blue" video call on Wednesday, August 26, on a Contact App from a woman he didn't know.

A report from the victim said the woman was laying naked n a provocative position and started a conversation with him. The victim answered a few innocuous questions and then terminated the call.

Straight away he received another call from the same number from a man demanding cash.

He said he had recorded a video of the conversation with the woman which he would send to the victim’s wife and all of his friends if he did not send £2,000.

Police said the victim didn't cooperate and said he would not pay any money.

He then called the police following a string of demanding and intimidating emails from the fraudster.

The victim still still refused to co-operate or send any money and then the scammer sent screenshots of the video call to his wife's Facebook page, to show he was serious about posting the video to all of his friends and family.

Thames Valley Police said: "Has anyone else received a similar call and threat? If so, please report it to us in total confidence.

"The police cyber-crime teams have the emails and details of the App address and are fully investigating this case. To date, no video has been posted."
