FOODIES could soon be waving goodbye to a local Chinese takeaway serving “unusual food” after house conversion plans were revealed.
The Beijing Chinese Restaurant, on Old Wokingham Road in Crowthorne, will make way for two four-bedroom homes should applicants get their way.

According to their website, the restaurant serves “unusual food combining the best of Asian cuisine” and an “authentic Chinese experience”.
If the planning application is approved, the three-bedroom flat attached to the restaurant would also be converted following an extension to the first floor.
A statement from architects read: “Originally a 2 storey detached house, the property was then converted and extended into a Chinese restaurant and 3 a bed-flat at first floor.
“More recently only takeaways have been served.”

Despite the current site having twelve car parking spaces, the new homes would only have six spaces.
Few details exist about the plan, which is currently being considered by Wokingham Borough Council.
Residents have until Tuesday, October 13 to give their views on the proposal, and can do so by searching for planning reference 202440 at planning.wokingham.gov.uk
Bracknell Forest Council has also been asked to comment on the plans.
