Indian restaurant conversion refused (planning reference 20/00347/FUL)
Developers had hoped to convert The Mango tree on Church Street in Crowthorne into ten new flats.
Planning permission has already been granted to replace the eatery with five new homes, but applicants submitted an ambitious new proposal for double the homes in July.

It has now been refused by Bracknell Forest Council (BFC), however, after planning bosses deemed the development to be ‘detrimental to the character of the area’, ‘cramped’, ‘unsafe’ from an access point of view and more.
Objections to the plan were submitted by 17 residents.
The Mango Tree, which was a popular Indian restaurant and bar, has already been demolished.
12 homes approved in Winkfield (19/00343/FUL)
Controversial proposals for a dozen new homes at Moat Farm on Winkfield Lane have been given the go-ahead by BFC.
Councillors gave the application their blessing at a meeting back in May before the plan was sent off the council’s head of planning for final approval.
Now permission has been granted and the development can go ahead.

The green light comes almost 18 months after developers first submitted designs.
But almost four dozen neighbours sent objections to BFC from May 2019 to February 2020.
Several residents were unhappy the 12 homes were set to go up ‘outside a settlement area’ — i.e. in the countryside.
Despite this, planning officers have deemed the application acceptable and builders have three years to complete the project.
Seven new mobile homes in Warfield (20/00433/FUL)
Plans to extend The Hermitage caravan park at Herschel Grange have fallen flat after BFC shelved this proposal.

Applicants wanted to add an extra seven new mobile homes to the site but planning chiefs said the proposal would have a harmful urbanising impact on the countryside.
The designs were facing strong opposition, too, with 16 objections being sent in by residents.
