Under current laws, commonwealth veterans who served in her Majesty’s British Forces have to pay thousands of pounds to permanently reside in the UK.
The campaign was inspired by Hannah Swart whose husband from South Africa served in the British Army could face being shipped back at any given moment because they cannot afford the £2,000 application fee.
David alongside fellow commonwealth veterans rallied in Parliament Square yesterday calling for fairer treatment.
They will carry out a week-long demonstration by Help The Commonwealth Veterans 8.

The Bracknell resident who served in Afghanistan has vowed to return his medals to local MP James Sunderland on Friday, October 9, if the government doesn’t take action to remove the fees.
He said: "It was the successful first day of a well-attended, week-long demonstration by Help The Commonwealth Veterans 8.
"HTCV8 is campaigning for Commonwealth veterans who served in her Majesty’s British Forces to be allowed to reside in the UK without having to pay extortionate application fees for permanent residence applications.
"We ask you to join our fight to get these fees waived for Foreign & Commonwealth veterans and their families.
"In times of conflict, the Commonwealth countries have readily supported the UK and now we are calling on the UK public and media to remember their heroic efforts."
Hannah's petition has a total of 155,215 signatures.
Her petition adds: "If he gets medically discharged or made redundant right now we wouldn’t be able to keep him in the UK. He pays British taxes and puts his life at risk for this country - but he could still be shipped off. This is a constant worry hanging over our family.
Please sign my petition calling on the Home Office to let commonwealth soldiers who serve for the British Army stay in the UK free of charge."
