Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, the joint venture group which redeveloped the town centre, has submitted plans to bulldoze Fitzwilliam House.

The long-standing office build would be redeveloped to provide a new, smarter building also used by office workers.
A design statement from BRP read: “The existing office building is partly vacant and outdated and provides an opportunity to provide a high-quality new office building within this part of the town centre.
“The transformation of Bracknell, particularly within the town centre, has raised the standards of design, architecture and identification of place within the area.
“The redevelopment of Fitzwilliam House for a new office building is a natural next step towards complimenting the recent regeneration of the town centre and the transformation of this gateway site.

“We are aspiring to create an elegant and sustainable building that embraces its gateway location and creates a landmark exemplar development.”
Fitzwilliam House, on Skimped Hill Lane, most recently housed NHS Berkshire Healthcare’s head office.
The News understands it has been standing tall in Bracknell since 1973.
The 4,680 square-metre office space would be remodelled to almost triple its floorspace to around 13,000 square-metres.
Designers say the new building would consist of seven storeys, including a main office entrance, mixed-use lobby space, a plant room, a canteen and roof terraces.

It is hoped the redeveloped site will provide, “high quality, spacious, light and flexible office use”, with up to four tenants per floor.
According to planning documents, 47 car parking spaces would be provided as part of a car parking revamp, with office workers also being able to use the 165 spaces at the Skimped Hill Car Park to the north of the site.
The site is a seven-minute walk from Bracknell train station.
Bracknell Forest Council is currently considering the plans, which were validated by planning chiefs last month but have only recently been published on its planning portal.
