ALMOST two dozen new homes are set to be built at a vacant office space in Bracknell.

That’s one of four interesting planning applications published by Bracknell Forest Council in the past week.

21 new homes in Bracknell (planning reference: 20/01083/FUL)

Developers want to construct a five-storey building on London Road in order to add new apartments in Bracknell.

Applicants Flamingo Development are hoping to demolish Continuity House and replace it with a new building which would house 14 one-bedroom flats and seven two-bedroom flats.

Continuity House, which is located adjacent to Travelodge’s Bracknell Central hotel and is a 15-minute walk from Bracknell station, is currently vacant.

Six new homes in Crowthorne (21/00020/PAC)

An office space in Crowthorne is set to be converted into six new homes.

Countrywide House, at Wellington Business Park on Dukes Ride, is set to be transformed under prior approval planning rules.

The site is a detached two-storey building which could become half-a-dozen one-bedroom flats should the council give applicants the go-ahead.

Demolition of a listed building in Warfield (20/01089/FUL)

A protected building in Warfield could be partly demolished under a new plan submitted to the council.

Cruchfield Manor, on Ascot Road, could see its lean-to extension knocked down and its three-storey side bay and porch removed.

Applicants are hoping to construct a new single-storey extension at the site.

The Manor house is protected due its historical quality -- a report attached to the plans suggests the site dates back to the 18th century.

Demolition of garage in Winkfield (20/01084/FUL)

North Street garage in Winkfield could be bulldozed to the ground if these plans are approved.

Applicants are hoping to replace it with a new three-bedroom house complete with entrance gate and railings.

A similar plan to knock down the garage and build two new homes at the site, which is in the green belt, was refused in June 2019.

As with the rest of the planning applications mentioned, this proposal is pending consideration from Bracknell Forest Council.
