THE PRIME Minister announced last week that schools will not reopen after the February half-term.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Boris Johnson told MPs that it would not be possible to open schools ‘immediately’ after the February break.
He said he hoped it would be safe to reopen schools in England by March 8.
We asked our readers when they thought schools should reopen.
This is what readers in Bracknell and Reading said.
Joanne Flockton said: "No because some of the parents don’t follow the rules out of school"
Carol Thomas said: "Probably not a good idea the infection rate is still very high."
Gill Hawkes believes vaccinations should be a priority before schools return. She said: "not until teachers have been vaccinated."
Matthew Picton echoed this and said: "If teachers / staff have been immunised, yes, otherwise no."
Rebecca Newman echoed the thoughts on Covid-19, "Nope takes one person who has covid with no symptoms to spread it."
Jan Rossiter said: "Boris himself only 3 days ago that schools help spread the infection."
Lee Clark said "They should open when it is safe to do so."
Teacher Suzanne Curtis said: "Anyone who thinks they should be open now should go and work in a school at the moment!!! The fear of bringing COVID home to my own family is terrifying me."
Some people think schools should open back up for the sake of children's education.
Dave Fostekew said: "Kids need education and there mates"
Joanne Louise added: "Hell yes."
