Residents have called for a supermarket, clothes shops and even a B&M store to be built in Bracknell Town Centre.

Bracknell is set to be boosted with the arrival of high street retailer Sports Direct, with the sports clothing store being given the go-ahead to replace Sainsbury's in Princess Square.

The latest announcement has got members of the community drawing up their wishlist of what businesses they would like to see follow suit.

A few residents suggested a B&M would be good for the town.

Rach Winter Yeow said: "I would have loved B&M to have come to Bracknell."

Sheilagh-anne Davidson echoed this view and said: "The only good thing will be if the peel centre sports direct then becomes a Wilko or B&M."

She also thinks it would have been better to have another supermarket instead of Sports Direct. "The old “Boots” unit would be great for a Tesco express." Claire Bryant added: "It's a very niche shop. Will only appeal to a small group. Would be better to have this store on a retail park and keep a shop like this as a Wilko."

Anne Rogers also said: "What a waste of space very disappointed was hoping for a Wilko or B&M not something we all ready have."

Emily Simpson thinks a "Decathlon would have been better".

Rob Francis said: "Princess Square really should have a Robert Dyas."

Tony Gauci said: "There was still talk Lidl was looking for premises in Bracknell."
