EIGHT driving range bays at a popular golf club are set to disappear under new plans submitted to the council.
That’s just one of three interesting proposals validated by Bracknell Forest Council in the past week.

Blue Mountain changes (21/00120/FUL)
Bosses at Blue Mountain Golf Club and Conference Centre on Wood Lane in Binfield have unveiled plans for big changes at their site.

New proposals show designs for a new clubhouse to go up by the driving range, meaning eight of the Club’s driving range bays will be lost in order to complete the project.
This is a temporary planning application, meaning if Blue Mountain gained permission, they would be allowed to keep the Clubhouse for a maximum of five years.
The plan comes after proposals from Blue Mountain for a golf entertainment centre were approved in 2017, with grand plans for a new clubhouse submitted in 2019.

But due to the impact of covid-19, Blue Mountain bosses said it was not possible to deliver their original plans and are therefore hoping to build a ‘modest’ clubhouse for an ‘interim period’ before creating a larger, permanent clubhouse in the future.
More than a dozen driving range bays will remain should the plans go ahead.
The plan comes just as Bracknell MP James Sunderland revealed constituents’ frustrations at not being able to play golf under current and upcoming coronavirus restrictions.
He said in the House of Commons on Tuesday, March 2: “Bracknell is blessed with some stunning golf courses of the highest quality, and it has been a real source of frustration to my constituents to see their sport lumped in with others.
“It is an outdoor sport and we can separate very easily, so let us get the courses open quickly, please.”
New pool house at Winkfield property (21/00151/FUL)
Homeowners at a property on Mounts Hill in Winkfield are asking for permission build a new pool house, swimming pool and sewage treatment cabinet at their abode.
The new additions would come following the removal of three existing buildings at the site, one of which houses the property’s pool storage.
The site is in the green-belt -- land protected from development -- but the applicants say it is ‘not inappropriate’ building work.
New welfare building in Binfield (21/00127/FUL)
Thames Water wants to build a welfare building at its sewage treatment works on Hazelwood Lane in Binfield.

According to Thames Water, “Recent changes to tanker services have resulted in tanker drivers being employed directly by Thames Water instead of having an outsourced service.
“As a result, there is a need to provide additional welfare facilities on the STW for use by tanker drivers as the existing facilities on site are not sufficient for the number of people based at the works.”
The building will provide toilets, showers, kitchen and rest areas for drivers.
As with all planning applications listed above, this proposal is pending consideration.
