THE TOWN centre will finally get a rapid testing centre as the council rolls out another site in its bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.
Asymptomatic lateral flow tests will be available from One Lexicon offices (formerly High View House) at Charles Square in order to enable people to work in or visit the town centre for a permitted reason.
The new centre will be the sixth such site in the borough, all of which have been set up so people with no symptoms can get tested and get results in around 30 minutes.
Bracknell Forest Council hopes to stop the spread of the virus as people who test positive at a rapid testing centre will be asked to not go to work or public areas and self-isolate immediately.

Cllr Paul Bettison, Leader of Bracknell Forest Council, said: “As we prepare to reopen the town centre, the testing centre at One Lexicon will provide us with a more safe and secure way to ensure the reduction of risk from the virus in our community.
“The more people who get regular testing, the more confident people can be of not being the person who is spreading the virus without knowing.”
Rob Morris general manager at The Lexicon, added: “We welcome the opening of a new rapid testing centre at One Lexicon.
“It will provide an easily accessible resource not only for our retailers but other local people requiring a free asymptomatic testing service.”
The new testing centre will be open from 8am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
People can attend the centre during opening hours or book an appointment via the rapid testing page on the Bracknell Forest Council website or by phoning 01344 352000.
