A warden for the Crown Estate, who wished not to be named,  explained what happens to the flowers and cards left by kind-hearted members of the public.

He said: "She will read the cards and she does love to read them, it's really important to her."

The head gardeners have been collecting the flowers to make one big display inside the castle.

He explained how all of the cards will be collected individually and read by The Queen.

"The gardeners have been coming down every so often and collecting the flowers together to make one big display in the castle. All of the notes are collected so the family can read them as it's quite important to them and it's also for Covid security so there are not masses gathered here.

"Mainly it's because the family love seeing the flower,s but they have to stay in their bubble so it's the best way to accommodate it."
