MORE THAN 130 roads across the Wokingham borough have seen improvements made since last year, after the council has spent more than £6 million on the works.
The council announced yesterday, April 12, that the road maintenance program for 2020-2021 has now been completed since last April, and has said that the lockdown allowed for roadworks to be sped up while causing minimal disruption to residents.

Andy Glencross, assistant director for highways, said: “Throughout 2020-21 we’ve made the most of lockdowns to carry out improvements on the borough’s roads when they are quietest, keeping disruption to a minimum for residents.
“We continue to invest in the borough’s roads and maintaining them to the highest standards we can, to help keep journeys smooth for motorists and cyclists across our area.”
