FOX Hill Primary School is set to be investigated after it was alleged a child with special educational needs was ‘unfavourably treated’ by a staff member and a class teacher at the school.
A tribunal has been called to determine whether certain employees at the Easthampstead school, on Pond Moor Road, discriminated against the Fox Hill pupil.

In tribunal papers seen by the News, it is alleged that:
- A class teacher encouraged parents to complain about the pupil’s behaviour
- A staff member told other pupils to be scared of the pupil
- A staff member removed the pupil’s special toys
- And that the pupil was the only one sent home ‘after several incidents where other children were equally to blame but were given ‘time-out’ or similar punishment.’
It is also claimed that the school failed to provide the pupil with an appropriate space to calm down, provided ‘insufficient’ support tools and emotional support, and inappropriately excluded them from class.

Should Fox Hill be found to have discriminated against the pupil, the school would be forced to apologise to the pupil’s family and review their policy on pupil behaviour.
The News understands Fox Hill leaders have already offered an apology to both the pupil and their family via Bracknell Forest Council, but this was refused as the family wished to pursue a tribunal hearing.
According to the papers, the tribunal will take place in September of this year.

Before that, Fox Hill was due to respond to the claims this week, with final evidence from both the school and the family to be submitted by July.
Grainne Siggins, Executive Director: People at Bracknell Forest Council, said: "We are aware of concerns raised by a family at Fox Hill Primary School.
“As this matter is subject to ongoing legal proceedings, we are unable to comment further at this time.”
