The government have released an update on the number of confirmed cases of the Delta variant of Covid-19 first discovered in India in our area.
Yesterday, Slough Borough Council confirmed that plans to launch surge testing had been put to the government following a rise in cases.
Across the country, 39,061 confirmed cases of the Delta variant have now been recorded.
This is up from 10,797 on June 3.

Bracknell's confirmed cases have increased from 11 last week to 174, an increase of 1481.82 per cent.
Elsewhere in Berkshire, last week there were 43 confirmed cases of the Delta variant in Slough.
This number has since jumped to 214, as of June 11.

Nine cases had been registered in Windsor and Maidenhead on June 3, with this number now standing at 44.
In Reading, this figure stood at 62 last week and has increased to 248.
In Wokingham, there had been 29 recorded cases, but this has since increased to 199.
