IT HAS been a whole year since it was announced that Wimpy is opening in Bracknell.
And yet there are no signs of it opening as of yet.
The popular sit-down fast-food chain submitted plans to open up a restaurant in Princess Square last year but an opening date has not yet been revealed.
Bracknell Forest Council gave the designs the go-ahead marking Wimpy’s return to the town after more than 30 years away.

But no construction work has happened since plans emerged exactly this time last year.
Bracknell resident Rob Francis is one of many who is keen to know when Wimpy is opening. He noticed how there are no signs of any building works taking place and contacted the News about it.
He said: "Unless they're kitting it out from an entrance at the back and are doing the front last. No way of seeing in at the moment though. I imaging cutting through the concrete under the window and then putting in proper supports and new doors and windows would be very messy.

"They haven't even got an entrance yet! Diners may need to crawl through a window."
He even contacted them, here's what a spokesman at Wimpy said: "Thanks for your enquiry.
"We remain committed to opening our new Wimpy restaurant in Bracknell later this year and are excited to be moving forward with plans. We will announce more details in due course."
Wimpy opened its first site in London in 1954 and became a global brand by 1970.
The chain had more than 500 locations in the UK at its commercial peak, according to Vice.
There are now 72 sites listed on Wimpy’s UK website.
The nearest restaurant to Bracknell currently is in Farnborough, 8.5 miles away.
