The outline planning permission, covering the 250 acres between Finchampstead Road and Waterloo Road, has sparked controversy amongst our readers.

One commenter wrote: "All I can say it is clear that Wokingham Council doesn't believe in protecting green space, the environment or amenity."
They continued on to say: "Wokingham has been destroyed beyond belief with all the housing."
Similarly, comments on Facebook have called the decision "disgusting", another saying "disgraceful".
One commenter even went on to write: "Needs to be reversed - small, badly built, overpriced and no one wants them. Totally ruining the area with too many houses."
