OFSTED, or the Office for Standards in Education, inspects and rates all state schools across England to judge the quality of education pupils are receiving.
According to the latest ratings, there are currently six schools in Bracknell and Wokingham that have been rated as 'requires improvement' or ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted.

Here is a list of all the schools that have been rated 'inadequate' or 'requiring improvement' in the Bracknell and Wokingham area.
Wildridings Primary School, Bracknell - Requires Improvement
- Date of last inspection: March 20, 2018
The Ofsted report said: "Following the previous inspection, standards and outcomes declined rapidly.
"They have only recently shown improvement after the appointment of the current headteacher."
The inspector added: "Senior leaders have created a strong culture of teamwork.
"Consequently, staff are united in their commitment to improve standards."
The Pines School, Bracknell - Requires Improvement
- Date of last inspection: July 11 2019
The Ofsted report reads: "The cultural aspects of the curriculum, such as learning about the range of faiths and cultures represented in British society, are not well developed.
"Pupils’ personal and social education is not systematically organised to promote pupils’ well-being effectively," adding "The most able disadvantaged pupils, and disadvantaged pupils with SEND, make particularly weak progress."
However, the report also identified that "Expert and determined leadership by interim senior leaders and the chair of the governing body has secured rapid and secure improvement in recent terms, most notably in pupils’ behaviour and in teaching.
"Staff are inspired to work hard to deliver this success. Parents’ confidence shows signs of recovery."

Floreat Montague Park Primary School, Wokingham - Requires Improvement
- Date of last inspection: June 25, 2019
The report reads: "Assessment is not always used well in key stage 1.
"Work is not pitched correctly for pupils, particularly for the most able and those with below average starting points, including in the wider curriculum.
"Expectations of what pupils can attain are not always high enough."
However, the inspector added: "Leadership of the early years is strong.
"Children in the early years receive a good education.
"Teaching is effective and outcomes are above average.
"Behaviour is good throughout the school. Pupils are happy and have a zest for learning."
Gorse Ride Junior School, Finchampstead - Requires Improvement
- Date of last inspection (monitoring visit): June 8, 2021
Following the school's last monitoring visit (the first routine inspection the school received since the pandemic began), the inspector concluded that leaders and those responsible for governance are taking effective action in order for the school to become a good school.
They said: "Key appointments to your leadership team are having a positive impact on the school’s vision for a well-considered and ambitious curriculum.
"You are improving the provision for disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
"Aspirations for what your staff and pupils can achieve are high."

Emmbrook Junior School, Wokingham - Requires Improvement
- Date of last inspection: June 20, 2018
The report read: "Leaders and governors have not focused sharply enough in their planning to address the areas identified in the previous inspection report as needing improvement.
"Leaders and managers of subject areas do not fully understand their roles and so cannot sufficiently support the improvements needed in the school."
The inspector did however commend the school by saying: "Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is promoted effectively and reflects the school’s ethos."
The Forest School, Winnersh - Requires Improvement
- Date of last inspection: May 6, 2021
Ofsted said in their latest remote monitoring inspection: "Leaders and those responsible for governance should take further action to improve the progress of the weakest readers and develop all pupils’ vocabulary range."
However, the report did credit the school by saying: "Leaders have been proactive in developing curriculum content over the past two years.
"This process has continued unabated during the partial closures of schools. The headteacher has been assiduous in the drive to improve the quality of education.
"She and the governors have appointed new middle leaders across the curriculum. They have also made a range of new appointments to the subject teams."
