An inmate at Broadmoor Hospital has appeared in court over serious assaults on four prison officers while in custody.
Yusuf El-Hamid, 20, is accused of three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against officers at Wormwood Scrubs prison, west London, in June and July last year.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon by videolink from Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire.

He spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.
The alleged assaults took place between June 23 and July 24 2020.
El-Hamid was said to have “unlawfully and maliciously” caused GBH to three officers and ABH to the fourth.
He was denied bail and was asked to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on August 26 at 9.30am.
