Two massive planning applications that would change the face of Bracknell forever have been submitted this week.

Perhaps the biggest plan is for one for seven buildings that will create 377 homes for people after the demolition of the Bracknell Beeches offices near the town centre.

The second biggest application is the massive plan to redevelop Bracknell’s old bus station, featuring a total of 169 homes.

A massive plan for 377 homes at the Bracknell Beeches site was submitted this week.

Bracknell Beeches is in an ideal location opposite the train station.

The scheme involves the demolition of the seven office buildings at Bracknell Beeches and replace them with seven new buildings.

The tallest of these will be 16 storeys high, with the shortest being five storeys.

The plan also involves access to Bracknell train station to the north, and 601 sqm of floorspace for businesses.

The number of flats for the Bracknell Beeches development has evolved several times. In November last year, the developers were seeking to build 420 flats. Currently, the developers have applied for 377 homes. Of those 200 would be two-bedroomed, 160 would be one-bedroom, and 17 will be studios.

An application has also been submitted to transform the old bus station site in Bracknell by building four massive buildings on it.

Of those, three will be residential towers and the fourth would be an office building 2699 sqm of commercial floorspace.

The tallest building in this development would be even taller than the tallest building at Bracknell Beeches, as a 17-storey tower is included in the plans.

The residential element is divided into three blocks, A, B and C.

Block A, the tallest, would have 88 flats, block B would have 52 flats and block C would have 29 flats.

According to CGIs submitted with the application, the three tower buildings would be next door to The Point and a short walk to The Lexicon in Market Street.

Here, the developers have submitted a plan to build four four-bedroom houses on the border of Ranelagh School’s playing fields.

The site in question lies at the very border of the playing fields, and a report from Sports England states “the area where the housing is to be located has never been formally laid out as a playing field in recent memory.”

The proposed houses would be three storeys tall with integrated garages.

Pub company Admiral Taverns want to improve the signs and branding of The Victoria Arms pub in Easthampstead Road, Wokingham town centre.

Admiral Taverns have said that the pub is popular with both locals and visitors to the area, but the current signs “do not reflect the high standards of an Admiral Tavern”.

There are minor changes to the colour scheme and the designs, which have been drawn up by Ashleigh Signs, the same company which was used for the rebrand of the ‘Black Boy’ pub in Shinfield.

Here, the developers have applied to convert the closed New Mill restaurant in Eversley into a home.

According to estate agents Savills, the New Mill was sold at a guide price of £1.1 million in March of this year.

The restaurant closed in 2012, with developers successfully applying to change it into a home in 2014.

It already has some accommodation, previously used for staff working at the restaurant. However, the new owners want to transform it into a permanent home.

The biggest part of the plan is the developer’s desire to convert the kitchen of the restaurant into an indoor swimming pool.
