POUNDLAND’S discount clothing store will be coming to Bracknell, according to plans.
It’s the biggest planning application that has been submitted in our area this week.
Another big project is to convert a loft into a fresh bedroom and media room in Ascot.
In Sandhurst, there is a plan to convert an existing bungalow into a two storey house. And in Binfield, farmers want to convert a chicken shed into a home.

Pep&Co coming to Poundland in Bracknell (21/00727/A)
Poundland’s clothing brand Pep & Co will be coming to Bracknell, as the company has applied for advertising consent.
Pep&Co will be housed at the current Poundland store at The Peel Centre.
News that Pep&Co would be introduced in all Poundland’s UK stores was announced last August.

The brand became a part of Poundland’s offer in 2017, and is currently available in over 300 of its stores.
It appears that Poundland will be expanding into the Maplin store next door to it as well, as plans show the Poundland store stretching across two units.
Big changes are coming to the Peel Centre that Pep&Co will enter. The old Next store has been gutted to make way for Home Bargains, and the entire centre has been earmarked for redevelopment in the emerging Bracknell Forest Local Plan.
New loft bedroom for home in Ascot (21/00720/FUL)
Here, the homeowners have applied to convert their loft into habitable space at Woodside House in Birch Lane, Ascot.
The loft conversion would create a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom and a media room with a sizeable TV or projector. Work would also be done to add four dormers to the house.
Woodside House currently has five bedrooms, three of which are ensuite, with one family bathroom.
It has seven parking spaces and three garage spaces.
Conversion of bungalow into two-storey house in Sandhurst (21/00734/FUL)
The owners of 35 Park Road, Sandhurst want to convert their bungalow into a two storey house.
The home is currently a large bungalow with roof space enough for two bedrooms, with one being ensuite.
The owners want to build another storey onto the current house and a rear extension.
This work would create an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, with four bedrooms upstairs, three of which would be ensuite.

Works to historic home in Twyford (Wokingham app 212533)
The owners of Chiswick House in High Street, Twyford want to make changes to the historic building.
The house dates back to the 1400s, and has experienced alterations in the 17th, 19th and 20th centuries.
The applicants have applied to demolish an existing porch and replace it with a new one to the rear of the home, remove internal walls, rebuild the chimney, conduct roof repairs and make external changes to the masonry and fenestration.
Chiswick House is grade II listed, which means the applicants have had to produce a heritage statement and impact assessment to demonstrate what work is being done.
Conversion of chicken shed into home in Binfield (Wokingham app 212706)
The owners of Stokes Farm in Binfield want to convert one of their chicken sheds into a home.
The shed was built around 1995 to house e 22,000 free range chickens, and is still in use today.

Now the owners want to convert it into a five bedroom home, with an ensuite primary bedroom, two toilets, a family bathroom a kitchen and a living room. You can see a floor plan of what they want to do in the gallery above.
Although the farm is in Binfield, it actually falls within the parish of St Nicholas, Hurst, meaning the owners have had to apply to Wokingham Borough Council for planning consent.
