Big changes could be coming to Bracknell as a few major plans have been submitted.

The biggest is a plan to build 143 homes off A329 at Jennett’s Park in Bracknell, as well as the owner of the Peacocks unit in town asking for permission for two flats.

For Wokingham, developers have applied to add 19 flats to an old office building near the Carnival Place site, and others want to make adjustments to a historic townhouse.

Housebuilders Redrow and Persimmon Homes have applied to build 142 homes  off A329 in the Jennet’s Park area of Bracknell.

Of the 142 homes, 125 would be apartments, 13 would be houses, and four would be apartment is built over garages which are known as FOG’s (flats over garages).

Of the homes, 107 would be two-bedroom, 29 would be one-bedroom, and six would be three-bedroom.

Access would be provided of Vigar Way and Peacock Lane.

Located of the major A329, the development would have 251 car parking spaces for occupants, and an additional 25 spaces for visitors and disabled spaces.

The owners of the old Peacocks unit  in Bracknell High Street have applied to redevelop it to provide two flats.

A shopping unit at the front of the building would be retained, with the rear of it being used for two two-bedroom apartments.

Each flat would come with a shared toilet shower room, a study and an open plan kitchen living room.

15 cycle parking spaces would be provided.

Owner Criterion Capital has submitted the application to determine whether prior approval is needed to add the two flats to the building, or whether the additions are permitted development (and therefore don’t require planning approval).

A plan has been submitted to demolish two homes and their associated buildings and replace them with nine new ones in Westbourne Road, College Town Sandhurst.

It involves the demolition of the 2.5 storey Athol Villa and the Woodside bungalow to its left to make way for a total of five new buildings.

It is understood two of these will be detached, two will be semi detached, and one will be a three home terrace.

Eight of the new homes would have two parking spaces, and a larger four-bedroom house would have three parking spaces.

In full, the developers Rio Homes want to build three two-bedroom homes, three three-bedroom homes and a four-bedroom home on the site.

Extensions and redevelopment to create 19 flats at Ascot House (Wokingham app 213400)

Klara Ascot Ltd has applied to create 19 flats at Ascot House in Wokingham.

Works would involve a part four storey, part two storey side extension to Ascot House which used to serve as offices.

An application to convert the offices into flats (app 211148) was approved this April.

The additions proposed in this application would mean a total of 40 flats at the site.

The owners of 7 Broad Street, PAH Lawrence and PC Neale Settlements, have applied to divide it into two commercial units.

This work requires refurbishment, alterations and other works.

The building is currently being used by the Martin & Pole estate agents.

7 Broad Street is a historic building dating back to the early 19th century, and used to serve as a town house before becoming offices.

Because 7 Broad Street is a Grade II listed building, the applicants have had to submit a heritage statement to demonstrate that the works would not have an adverse impact on the character of the building.
