Snow could be heading our way according to weather forecasters.

After a largely mild start to November, temperatures across the nation are set to plummet to single digits with snow set to hit the north of the UK before moving south.

And as the festive season approaches, we could be in for a white Christmas after all.

Met Office weather forecasters have said "showers or longer spells of rain are likely with snow likely across higher ground and possibly falling to low levels at times."

In the south it is likely to remain drier with fewer showers a with chance of "wintry weather".

As we head into next week, the weather across Berkshire is looking to be 'cold with scattered showers and brisk northerly winds'.

Temperatures are set to plummet to single figures on Sunday, November 21 with highs of 7C. It will feel like 4 degrees so wrap up warm.

The wintry conditions are set to carry on with rain predicted for Tuesday (November 30).

Looking ahead to December, the Met Office has said flurries of snow is possible in its mid to long-range weather forecast covering November 27 to December 11.
