A MAN who stabbed a father outside a popular Bracknell pub will learn his prison fate next year after claims he suffers from psychotic episodes.
Harry Goodwin, formerly of Birchett Road, Farnborough, stabbed the man in his 50s while he was with a friend at The Market Inn pub on Station Road, Bracknell, in the early hours of Friday, August 22.
The 27-year-old admitted to wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon at a court hearing on September 20, 2021.
He was due to be sentenced today but a decision on how long he will spend behind bars was put back after a plea from his defence counsel.

James Hay, defending, appealed for the decision to be adjourned to allow time for a psychiatric report about Goodwin to be prepared in order for the judge to consider when passing sentence.
The barrister claimed Goodwin had a “significant psychiatric history” and had previously suffered from psychosis, PTSD, anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses.
He said the omission of such a report was “glaring”.
Ms Recorder Formby, sentencing, agreed to the request and said: “I’m sure all will play their part to bring this matter back as soon as possible.”
A new sentencing date was set for Tuesday, January 18.

Mr Goodwin appeared for the hearing on Tuesday, November 30 via live video link from HMP Bullingdon, where he is in custody.
He was wearing a prison-issued grey tracksuit and spoke only to confirm his name.
A fundraiser set up to support the family of the stabbing victim was created the same day as the incident.
Since its launch, generous residents have donated £605, smashing the organiser’s original goal of £550.
Bradley Benbow, who is the son of the victim, wrote on the Go Fund Me Page in August to say the situation had made the family’s lives ‘a whole lot harder financially.’

The goal of the fundraiser was to support Bradley’s mother while his father was in hospital and to support the man after he was discharged.
Upon surpassing the crowdfunding goal, Mr Benbow wrote on the fundraising page: “A huge thank you to everybody that has donated, The amount reached will help mum massively.
“Anything donated over the £555 mark will be donated directly to Mind Men’s mental health.”
