A PENSIONER was left 'lying on the road' after being knocked down by a car in a "shocking" hit and run.
Brian Rushby, 82, was on his usual walking route at 10.30am on Wednesday, December 1, when he was reportedly 'struck by a red car' near Tesco in Warfield.
His brother-in-law Ian Manners contacted the News appealing for witnesses to come forward.
He claimed: "He was knocked down by a car when the driver tried to perform a U-turn on County Lane adjacent to the Tesco goods-in the area.
"The driver drove off and left my brother in law lying on the path. He's now in Frimley Park Hospital waiting to have an operation on his hip and leg."

Brian was found lying on the floor by a dog walker. They managed to call his wife and his daughter to help him.
Ian's niece is also a first aider and managed to help dress his hand, which he cut during the fall.
Luckily, she also had blankets in the boot of her car which helped keep Brian warm.
Ian said he was "shocked" at how long it took the ambulance service to arrive.
He said: "They called ambulance and at first they said it was a Category C. A police motorcyclist then arrived from Slough and called the ambulance service again as he thought Brian needed to be seen to sooner.

"They then arrived within 11 minutes and took him to Frimley Park Hospital. It's a bit shocking that it took so long to get there but they are stretched. What's more shocking is the car driving off like that.
"I just want an appeal out there so a witness might come forward and have a better note of the car or perhaps for the perpetrator to have any kind of conscience that they'd hand themselves in to police.
Thames Valley Police said they are appealing for people to come forward.
A statement was put out by investigating officer, PC Christopher Weston, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, who said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to please come forward.
“Also, if any motorists were in this area around the time of the incident, please check any dash-cam footage in case it has captured something that could help the investigation.
“Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210542740.”
