A HAIR salon in Berkshire has proved a 'cut above the rest' after winning a top award within its industry.

Matrix Hair Design in Wokingham Road, Bracknell, were awarded the Best Salon in Berkshire at England Business awards on November 3, after being anonymously voted.

Salon Owner, Katie Bourne, said: “It was a huge honour to be entered let a lone win I was extremely happy and so proud of my girls who make up our team at Matrix we are like a big family and all of our clients taking the time to vote and writing some wonderful comments made me feel very proud of our salon and how hard we are all working."

Customers could vote for the salon to win via a QR code in the salon and leave an optional comment to say they have given the vote.

The salon won the award after receiving the most comments out of all nominations.

They also won an award in the mystery shopper category and for customer service.

Katie added: "We have such a lovely time in salon all of our clients are just fantastic and we have such a laugh so it really doesn't feel like work?

"But the best part of doing what we do is making the clients feel good and creating some stunning hair colours and cuts and to be recognised for this is truly amazing feeling."

Since winning the award, customers have been sending their well-wishes and congratulations to the team.

Katie said: "It is the perfect pick up after a rubbish year for everyone and more so business's so we were extremely proud to bring it home now.

"Voting starts again for us as we are now entered into the best salon of the South East in the spring."
