Staff and pupils at a primary school in Bracknell are celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ rating from OFSTED for the school which was once rated ‘Inadequate.’
Jennett’s Park Church of England Primary School was recently inspected with education officials praising staff for creating a positive learning environment which pupils enjoy.
The report states. “Pupils enjoy coming to Jennett’s Park School.
“They are proud of their school and say that pupils are ‘kind to one another; they always laugh and have fun’.”

Staff at the school were particularly praised for supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
It states: “SEND pupils are given expert help from the very start. Pupils have carefully designed plans to support their learning and behaviour.
“The school’s curriculum is designed to ensure that these pupils make progress.”
The school was rated ‘Good’ in the five parameters the inspectors look at when reaching their judgement.
These are the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.
To improve, inspectors recommended improving subject planning for art, geography, history and science, and adapting its curriculum to assist SEND pupil learning in some subjects.
Headteacher Liz Savage said: “We as a team are truly delighted and a little bit humbled. I, as head, am so proud of Team Jennett’s Park CofE- the children, the staff and the wider community have been magnificent in their dedication to turn this school around.
“It has been an honour serve them and to see them grow.”
The inspection took place in October with the inspector’s report being published on Monday, December 6.
The rating comes after the school was previously put into special measures in 2014 after it was rated ‘Inadequate’ by OFSTED inspectors under its previous leadership.
The scathing report from that time called the governance of the school ‘inadequate’ and that pupil behaviour varied “according to the quality of teaching.”
It stated: “Behaviour varies according to the quality of teaching. Pupils behave well when they are interested in what they are learning and regularly reminded about how to behave by adults.
“Where adults are less skilled in managing pupils’ behaviour, or activities are less challenging, pupils become bored, do not complete their work and become restless.”

Three monitoring visits were conducted between April 2015 and June 2016, with the school being taken over by The Bonitas Trust Multi-Academy Trust in 2017.
Mrs Savage said: “Bonitas Trust genuinely handled the school with love and kindness.
“There can be apprehension when schools become academised, but they showed you can be really kind with the children and the values of the school.
“There are some horror stories when schools become academies and this is not one.
“We had a real bad deal previously, now it’s lovely.”
The school is located in Tawny Owl Square in the Jennett’s Park estate.
The most recent inspection was conducted by Kevin Burrell, Tracey Bowen and Mineza Maher.
