This comes after a record-breaking Christmas where a vast number of people were advised to isolate because of a positive PCR test.

According to the government website, both at home tests and testing centres across Berkshire that were conducting PCR tests are unavailable.
There are also no PCR appointments available in other regions across the UK.
The website says: "Warning. Tests need to go to essential workers first, including NHS and social care staff.
"If you cannot get a test now, try again later. You will not be able to get a test through the helplines."
