A READING man has denied a charge of stalking following the disappearance of a Bracknell woman from a Windsor nightclub.
Abid Khan, of Cardigan Gardens, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court after being charged in connection with the vanishing of 18-year-old Marnie Clayton from Atik nightclub on Sunday, January 16.
Khan, 21, pleaded not guilty to one count of stalking with fear of violence relating to two incidents on July 31, 2021, and January 16, 2022.
Chair of the court, Mr Abbott, sent the case to be dealt with at Reading Crown Court.

Khan will next appear before a judge for a pre-trial hearing on Monday, February 21.
At today’s hearing, the court heard how a ‘manhunt’ was launched in search of Marnie Clayton and Khan following the former’s disappearance from the popular nightclub at 2am.
The pair were found in Basingstoke on Monday (January 17) evening.
Prosecutor Deane Harrison made representations arguing against Khan being bailed.
Defence counsel Adonis Daniel made pleas with the court to issue an electronically-monitored curfew, instead.
Mr Abbott opted to side with the prosecution, deciding against bailing Khan.
Khan, who was remanded in custody, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 19.
