REPORTS of dogs falling ill with symptoms of sickness and diarrhoea has skyrocketed in recent weeks.
Vets have also issued warnings about 'higher than usual occurrence of gastroenteritis in dogs in recent weeks.'
The serious mystery illness has left authorities stumped as to the cause as reports of poorly pets continue to pour in.

A case in Bracknell saw a Cocker Spaniel puppy hospitalised after becomming sick.
Samantha Doe took her energetic nine-month-old puppy Rhu to Englemere Pond on Friday, January 21. The following day Rhu started acting differently from her normal self and was rushed to the vets.

Bracknell Forest Council recommend dog walkers to "remain vigilant to minimise the risk of infection."
Stephen Chown, Head of Natural Estates, said: “We have not been made aware of any issues regarding dogs becoming ill as a result of visiting our green spaces. We always recommend dog walkers remain vigilant or ingestion of anything harmful, and where possible to avoid unnecessary contact with other dogs.
“Our advice to concerned pet owners is to contact their local vet for prompt treatment if their dog shows any signs of illness.
“According to the British Veterinary Association, it’s normal to see an increase of gastroenteritis cases in dogs during the colder months.”
