Thousands of Bracknell residents could be due council tax rebates under plans announced by the Government yesterday (Thursday, February 3)
Chancellor Rishi Sunak said that council taxpayers in bands A to D will be eligible for a £150 rebate.
Across Bracknell Forest, there are about 36,000 properties in Band A to Band D, as of September 13, 2021.
Bracknell Forest Council said: "Unfortunately, local authorities were not given any prior notice of this, and we are currently awaiting full details on how the rebate will work.

"Our current understanding is that we will be expected to pay £150 in April 2022 to all households in bands A to D.
"The expectation is that this will be an automatic payment for those who pay via direct debit. We will need to put additional arrangements in place for those who do not pay via direct debit."
Residents have been advised to set up a direct debit so that the rebate is applied as soon as possible.
