One of the ‘world’s most widely staged plays’ will be appearing in Bracknell this month after completing a UK wide tour.
On the 25th and 26th of February London Classic Theatre’s production of Bernard Slade’s Same Time, Next Year will be gracing the stage of The Wilde Theatre at South Hill Arts Centre.
The play that was originally produced in Broadway in 1975 will be directed articstic director Michael Cabot, where he will direct Kieran Buckeridge and Sarah Kempton in the adaption.
The play charts their lives of Doris and George who meet in 1951 through the ups and downs of parenthood, career highs and lows as well as the shifting fashions and morals of the passing decades.
Artistic Director Michael Cabot said: “We’re delighted to be starting rehearsals for this wonderful play. It’s our first new show in two years, so it’s been fantastic to be back in design and costume meetings as part of our pre-production. One of the big challenges of this play is the timeframe, which runs from 1951 to 1975, and convincingly showing the ever-changing fashions and styles as the years go by.”
