The owners of a house on Holly Spring Lane have had a narrow escape after a ‘huge’ oak tree has fallen through a wall opposite their property.

The old Oak Tree which has sat on the grounds of Wickhill house since the 1870’s sits on the T-Junction between Holly Spring Lane and Goughs Lane.

Harvey Moores, a local resident said: A fully grown Oak and a large pine tree smashed through the road and into a brick wall earlier today.”

“The tree fell away from the house but if it had fallen the other way it would have been destroyed.”

“It was so lucky because there is an elderly couple that were in the house at the time who appeared after the tree fell.”

Bracknell Forest council and Thames Valley Police have been called to the scene of the incident and are in the progress of clearing the debris.
