The owner of a chip shop wrecked by a car crash said the collision could have been fatal had it occured any other day.

A car left an adjacent car park and crashed into the Station Fish Bar’s window on February 12, destroying the glass and interior.

Owner, Cindy Zhang said the crash could have been much worse and the building is now at risk of falling down.

“It’s a big headache now. The car came out of the pub carpark across the road and crashed through our shop. If there had of been anyone in the shop, someone would have died,” she said.

“It was a Sunday so we were closed, but they drove into the pillar so if we had been opened the customers would have died and all the staff.

“This road is very straight and there are traffic lights so the driver must have been going very fast.”

According to Ms Zhang, she is still awaiting the council or insurance company to intervene in order to cover and board up the damage.

Cindy added: “We don’t know what’s happening and it’ll be a long time until we open, probably more than half a year.”

Bracknell News:

Due to the heavy winds caused by Storm Eunice and Storm Franklin, there is now concern that the building may become a danger if not secured quickly.

She said: “The police called the council and the council said they would be coming but no one has arrived yet. The wind is coming through and then the building has been shaking. It’s not safe being open because the wind is so strong.”
