A 95 year-old couple are looking forward to a week of celebrations to mark their Platinum wedding anniversary.
On Wednesday February, 23, Alan and Audrey Woods of McKernan Court in Sandhurst will mark the special day surrounded by their friends in the McCarthy Stone retirement home in Bracknell.
They will then celebrate their anniversay during the weekend with their family. This will include joining them for tea, cakes and Prosecco in the lounge at McKernan Court.
The pair were married in the same month that Princess Elizabeth became Queen and will therefore receive a card from the Monarch on the day of their anniversary.
Gillian Cannell, their daughter said: “After 70 years of marriage, they have been looking back at how the world was in 1952 and how much things have changed.”
“They are incredibly excited to be able to spend it together with the people they love.”
The fortunate couple are originally from Lancahire but moved to Sandhurst to be closer to family.
