A local Ascot based artist has been chosen to showcase her work in the famous Liberty London as winner of The Prince's Trust Art Print Collaboration.
To celebrate International Women’s day 2022, 16 year-old Sylvia Tirado will be displaying her work alongside five others raising funds for The Prince's Trust's #ChangeAGirlsLifeCampaign.
The collaboration, launched between Rockett St George and The Prince’s Trust, is a UK-wide competition for talented young female artists to get involved in.
The challenge was to create a piece of artwork that captures the spirit of what women supporting women means to them.
Sylvia Tirado is based in Ascot but is originally from Latin-America. She uses a variety of media in her works with the central focus on womanhood and the female experience.
Her piece, which she names Liberation, was created to raise awareness of domestic abuse and give homage to the victims and survivors. Her print reveals two sombre faces through etching and printing techniques and contrasts these female figures with flowers in the centre to symbolise regrowth, freedom and hope.

Her goal is to inspire the viewer to take action to create change in the world. She is a firm believer that women supporting women can lead to beautiful empowerment
Five other artists from around the country will be joining Sylvia in sharing their special edition charity art prints as part of this UK-wide creative competition. This includes Meig Sutherland, Lucy J Turner, Sophie Chittock, Leyla Sitki and Natasha Muluswela.
The Princes Trust have said that they are really excited to launch this campaign and help to bring hope and opportunity to young women who have lost confidence in their future, whilst also raising profile and awareness of six talented young female artists.
New Female Artist Editions will be launching for charity both online and within a concession exhibition in Liberty London on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day.
