What better way to kick off the first weekend of Spring than to enjoy one of the many picturesque walks in Bracknell.

From woodland and meadows to lakes and parks, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Although, in typical British fashion, the weather is forecast to be cold and rainy so don’t forget to wrap up!

Here are three must-do trails, which are a fantastic way to enjoy the local countryside this weekend.

Lily Hill Park

Bracknell News:

Located near the town centre, Lily Hill Park is 56 acres of parkland and gardens to be enjoyed. Whether you want to roam the traditional orchids, explore the woodland or spot the local wildlife (including birds, bats and insects) then this is the place for you.

Lily Hill Park is also home to England’s longest picnic bench, so this is one for the whole family. Literally!

South Hill Park

Bracknell News:

If variety is what you are looking for then South Hill Park is a fantastic way to spend any spring day. As well as rose gardens, ponds and woodland to enjoy, you can take a break from the cold by visiting the on-site café or exploring the art galleries, dance studio and theatre contained in the Grade II listed mansion, situated in the heart of the grounds.

For the more energetic amongst you, the park also offers orienteering courses for both beginner and advanced levels.

Peacock Meadows

Bracknell News:

For those seeking tranquility, Peacock Meadows is 89 acres of open grassland, meadows and woodland. As well as having 3 monolith sites, the park is also home to areas of ancient woodland – West Garden Copse and Big Wood.

It is the perfect place to visit in springtime where the grasslands are rich with beautiful wildflowers.
