Wokingham borough council have waved road closure fees for residents who wish to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee this summer.
From June 2 to June 5, residents and community groups holding celebrations and street parties throughout the town will be glad to know that no extra charges will be set to organise additional services.

Usually, any groups wishing to close a particular road or area is asked to pay to cover the various costs of alternative routes through the town.
Leader of the council John Halsall said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to organise celebrations if they want to. The Platinum Jubilee is a historic occasion and one that could bring communities together, so we don’t want bureaucracy or off-putting road closure costs to get in people’s way.”
