WOKINGHAM Borough Council is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month.
The council was granted borough status by Her Majesty the Queen in March 2007, before that it was a district council.
Since becoming a borough council, Wokingham has had a Mayor each year to chair the council as well as serving to represent and support the council, residents and businesses in the borough.
The first Mayor Cllr Angus Ross said: “It was a privilege to initiate the process for borough status back in 2007.
"It was supported by the then Lord Lieutenant and most of the councillors at the time.
"I believe that having borough status has assisted the standing of the council locally and nationally.”
Wokingham Borough Mayor, Cllr Keith Baker MBE, said: “It is an honour to represent and support the council, residents and businesses within Wokingham Borough, particularly on our 15th anniversary.“
