A INDIAN takeaway in Ascot has been given a food hygiene rating of one.

Health inspectors from the Food Standards Hygiene Agency visited Nanus Takeaway on Febraury 16.

The Indian takeaway in High Street, Sunninghill was given a score of one out of five.

The report found that major improvements are needed to be made to the management of food safety.

Improvement is also required in the cleanliness and condition of the takeaway (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene.

Nanus Takeaway also must make improvements on the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.

Nanus Takeaway in High Street, Sunninghill, Ascot was given a score of one on February 16.

On the other hand, The George Inn pub in High Street, Eton was handed a four-out-of-five rating after inspectors visited on February 16.

The pub scored good in Hygienic food handling and the management of food safety and inspectors are generally satisfed with the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building
