Mark Tennant, Everyone Active Contract Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon again to host this fantastic event. It offers a great opportunity for running and fitness enthusiasts to raise funds to support the people of Ukraine.
More than 1,000 runners are expected to take part in the event, managed by Everyone Active on behalf of Bracknell Forest Council.
The route takes in the heart of Bracknell starting at The Lexicon, heading off around the borough and finishing at the iconic town centre finishing line.
This year runners that opt to register for the race and make a donation will be supporting the following charities for those affected by the crisis in the Ukraine: The British Red Cross, UNICEF, Disasters Emergency Committee.
Cllr John Harrison, Executive Member for Culture, Delivery and Public Protection at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “As a council we have been delighted to see the compassionate response to the crisis in Ukraine.
"We have also been clear that giving safely to registered charities remains the best way of making sure that essential items reach those who need it most. That’s why it is such an honour to work with these three tremendous organisations.
“The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon is always a great event, but this year it we hope that it has a wider impact than ever. That’s why we’re urging every willing runner to take their place on the starting line this May.”
