An Ascot gymnastic club came out on top this month in a regional competition held at Pinewood gymnastic club.

The competition offered their members a chance to not only win medals in individual rounds, but it also allowed the gymnasts to earn their grade qualifications. The club had girls complete with a pass, a commended and distinction.

Gymnasts took part alongside other competitors throughout Berkshire in the grade 2, grade 4, grade 5 and grade 6 sections.

Gymnast, Inez Lewington came first place for the day, over 36 other competitors, meaning she is now the Berkshire champion in her age and skill level. Eloise Fleming also came out at fourth place in the 8-10 age group.

In the grade 5 round, Jessie Hyde from Links gymnastics club came second place overall with Margarida Barbosa landing in at fourth with medals for individual rounds.

Emily Eaton was awarded 1st overall and is the Berkshire champion in the grade four level. After which Sarina Miiro came fourth, and Ruby-Louise Cripps achieved sixith place.

Finally, grade 2 also took place that day and Ashley Mitchell from the Ascot club came 2nd place in her age group. 

Links Gymnastic club, which is run by Anna Kilburn is a non profit club offering children from the ages of four to 18 recreational and developmental gymnastic classes. and based at Marist School in Ascot.

Jamie Crispp, who works at the club based at Marist school said: “The girls that took place train up to 14 hours a week. This is a massive achievement for links gymnastics club and for the gymnasts.”
