Are you hoping to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee weekend with a street party but concerned over disruptions and road closures? Well, Bracknell Forest council is now making it easier than ever.
Today the council have announced their support for anyone wishing to plan their own festivities over the weekend of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Fees for road closures within Bracknell Forest between June 2 to June 5 have been waived making it as safe and cost effective as possible to plan Jubilee celebrations without disruptions.
A simple online process has been set up to allow residents wishing to host their own party to apply for road closures free of charge.

If an application is accepted, Bracknell Forest Council will provide a road closure sign and two cones which must be returned within a week of the event.
Cllr Paul Bettison OBE, Leader of the Bracknell Forest Council, said:
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to organise the kind of celebrations that we have all been missing for the past two years. The Platinum Jubilee is a chance to bring communities together and celebrate 70 years of The Queen’s reign.
“If you wish to host a street party, please get your road closure application in as quickly as possible, the deadline is the end of Friday, 29 April. Getting the form completed early will give you more time to plan the big day.”
The application form for those hoping to apply for road closure can be found here.
