A ceremony took place to formally mark the beginning of building work on a new Community and Health Hub, Bracknell Forest Council has announced.
The event at the Blue Mountain site in Binfield was attended by the mayor of Bracknell Forest, Councillor Ash Merry, alongside representatives from the council, Frimley Clinical Commissioning Group and Binfield surgery.

The executive member for culture, delivery and public protection, Councillor John Harrison, said: “When completed, this facility will provide many health, wellbeing and community services under one roof and will help bring the growing community of Binfield together.
“It’s exciting to be yet another step closer to this project coming to fruition, and for these facilities to finally become a reality for the local community.”
The construction, being undertaken by developers, Osborne, will see a double height hall, multi-use meeting and activity space, GP consultation and examination rooms, as well as a minor procedures room.

A planning application was approved in July 2021 with work expected to be completed in late 2022.
The GP Partners at Binfield surgery, Dr Koefman, Dr Platt and Dr Herhel, said: “We are looking forward to seeing the building develop over the up-coming months and will keep our patients updated regarding the site move, currently proposed for early 2023.”
