A site that was previously be used to monitor coronavirus figures in Berkshire has been deactivated.

The Public Health for Berkshire Covid-19 Dashboard was set up in 2020 to monitor coronavirus cases, deaths and NHS triages in each area of Berkshire.

On Friday, April 1, the Government announced that Covid-19 would be managed like other respiratory illnesses.

As such, the detailed data provided by the Public Health for Berkshire Covid-19 Dashboard was deactivated.

Yet the dashboard was still accessible for several days after.

When the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) tried to access the data at around 12.30pm today (Thursday, April 14) the site was inaccessible.

Coronavirus figues including cases, the infection rate, deaths and vaccinations for each area of Berkshire can still be found on the Government website.

Wokingham Borough currently has the highest number of fresh Covid-19 cases in the area, with 1,140 people testing positive in the seven days up to Friday, April 8.

From now on, figures will only be recorded during weekdays, which is part of the Government’s ‘Living with Covid-19’ plan.

Earlier this month, on Saturday, April 2, parents and carers of 5 to 11 year olds will be able to book a Covid vaccination for their children, which can be booked on the NHS website.
