An Ascot based business has come out on top at an awards ceremony celebrating the best of local entrepreneurs, individuals, and charities.
After 20,000 nominations were sent in by the public, ‘Little Muddy Boots’ a parent run business providing children with a way to connect with nature in a safe and stimulating outdoor environment, walked away with two awards.
Founder, Hannah Brewer, was awarded Best Local Independent Business and Best Parent Run Business in the annual Little Ankle Biter awards 2022 for her commitment and dedication across the local community.
Hannah Brewer, mum-of-three, and founder of Little Muddy Boots, based in Sunninghill, said: “The whole team at Little Muddy Boots is delighted to have been announced winners in the Little Ankle Biters Berkshire Awards 2022 in two categories.
“Since the pandemic, the business has really stepped up a gear, initially going through rapid change to produce an online education programme in a very short timescale to now having franchised across Berkshire with more franchises set to open throughout the UK this year.

“We have also produced a set of seasonal activity cards to help get more little ones outdoors, inspiring cross-generational learning at home.”
Brewer founded the business after finding first hand that there was so much to be gained from kids learning and playing together outside. Her aim is to create opportunities for children to spend quality time with their friends and parents in an exciting outdoor space.
Little Ankle Biters is a website that has trusted reviews on days out, child friendly restaurants, what’s on for families in the local area, party ideas, toddler groups and children’s classes. The company currently operates in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Sussex, and Warwickshire.
The creation of Michelle Cairncross and Kate Gregory, Little Ankle Biters launched in July 2017.
Having previously worked together in the corporate world of brand marketing, Michelle and Kate were both on the lookout for a new challenge and recognised the need for a site where mums, dads, grandparents, and carers could come and find all the local information they needed for their children.
Hannah added: “These awards really help to enforce all the hard work being done at Little Muddy Boots as we see our vision of getting more children outdoors learning, come to reality.
"With growth comes local job creation and through our expansion we have created more jobs, which in turn supports local parents and the community. It’s an honour to have been nominated and to win.”
