The owner of a Bracknell pub has responded after a council clerical error reported an incorrect hygiene rating.
Shane Levey, manager of the Admiral Cunningham was dismayed after receiving a call from a food delivery app on the morning of April 28, removing them due to a one-star food standards rating.
This is despite the thorough assessment and five-star rating that was awarded on March 3 2022 after their previous review in 2018.
The family – run local pub has consistently been awarded five-star's in the past and say that they pride themselves for it.

Shane commented: “When we were made aware of the one-star rating, we were slightly confused because our experience with the enforcement officer in March was very positive and we were instantly given the go ahead to display a five-star rating.
“What I am worried about is the damage it has been doing when we didn’t know that the one star was available online.
"If someone doesn’t use social media, all they are seeing is the score on the food hygiene website. It is very misleading.
“We are a family business, and there is a lot of time and money that goes into getting the building ready and keeping everything up to scratch to obtain the five stars.”
After follow-up calls to the council and food standards, it became clear that a clerical error was made in the process of data entry.
Shane added: “The food standards agency has been so helpful through all of it, but they said that it was down to the council to change it online.”
“We aren’t sure about what affect it has had on sales, but we have had a few group bookings call who have been quite tentative after seeing the score.”
Andrew Burbridge, Principal Officer, Public Protection Partnership said: “The Admiral Cunningham was awarded a food hygiene rating score of five (very good) following the most recent inspection on 3 March 2022.
"Due to a clerical error however, the rating uploaded to the Food Standards Agency website was incorrect. We have apologised directly to the owner of the business for our mistake.
"The matter has now been rectified, and the Food Standards Agency website displays the correct food hygiene rating score of five for The Admiral Cunningham.”
The pub has accepted the councils apology and are keen to move on and continue to offer their customers the continued level of service.
